Pink Shrine and Silver Winter Forest Fukuro Corset
£2,310.00
Corset made from a Pink and Silvery silk Fukuro Obi. This Obi dates back to the beginning of the Showa Era (1926-1989) and a pink shrine in a rigid winter atmosphere with snowy white and silvery trees and maple leaves.
This Corset is a unique piece made from a Japanese vintage Obi coming from Kyoto, from the Showa Era (1926-1989).
An Obi is a sash, or a belt used to hold in place a kimono, a Japanese traditional dress.
The detailed embroidery is made of refined pearl threads forming a pink shrine in a rigid winter atmosphere with snowy white and silvery trees and maple leaves.
In Japan, the location of a shrine is related to a sacred place where a holy ceremony took place in the past. It is a structure whose main purpose is to house (“enshrine”) one or more kami. The term kami is often associated with the “gods” venerated in the Shinto religion, though the concept is broader than that. They can be deities, divinities, elements of the landscape, forces of nature, or spirits of venerated dead people. The Maple tree is viewed as a symbol of Elegance, Beauty and Grace.
The evergreen Pine is universally known as the symbol of Life.
During the long and icy winter season, the evergreen does not lose its leaves nor its lush dark green colour. In Japanese culture, the Pine represents steadfastness.
